Why GiggleShots Are Leaving Social Media Platforms

With the recent update to TikTok’s privacy policy, I have decided to delete my account and no longer post on the platform. While social platforms (and others) collect copious amounts of data, it was the collection of biometric data (voice and face prints) that was the final straw that broke the camel’s back on hump day.

At first, I was kinda pissed, but I realized, as my wife says, everything happens for a reason. If I was being honest, the social thing was extremely limiting (which is why I stopped the Friday Funny) and really not the right vessel to produce my comedy the way I want. I was settling. And, you know what, fuck that. I mean, the GiggleShots may just be alcohol-induced dad jokes, but they deserve more than me trying to deliver a joke while making a connection with you guys in 60 seconds or less. The more I thought about it, the more I came to understand that I need more control (it’s my inner dominatrix). I need something better. And, well, fuck Mark Zuckerburg and his bullshit limitations and restrictions. If I want to show my front-facing nipple while delivering a GiggleShot, god damn it who is he to deny me that?

That’s when the wheels in my head began to turn. No not about nipples, but what I could do with GiggleShots, skits, and even Under The Influence if I had full control. No restrictions, full-frontal, ear ball assaulting control.

I came up with a plan to create a second podcast that would deliver a GiggleShot every Monday through Friday. However, the more I thought about that, and how that would affect my other projects, I decided to put all the comedy stuff on hold and focus on the A Walk In Darkness Universe (which has a new podcast in development called “Those Dark Places“), the Sounds On Vinyl Podcast, and BoozeHound Music.

I know many of you have enjoyed the GiggleShots every Friday and those daring enough to listen, the Under The Influence podcast too. But, I have a rule that anything I do has to be a “Hell Yes!”, and right now, those two things didn’t make the cut. That said, I have probably over 60 GiggleShots written, and I may, from time to time, release those as a post. It won’t be a regular thing but follow and you’ll get notified every time I post.

And before I close, I want to thank each and every one of you motherfuckers for your support.

Until next time, LATER!
